U21 Football Result

The Ballinora U21 footballers came up short in the first game of the season against Aghada on Saturday

Aghada 5-11

Ballinora 1-4

Playing with a vastly inexperienced and young team which included 10 minors and with up to ten regular faces absent it was always going to be a tough battle for us.

The lads gave their all until the very end in far from ideal conditions, and with so many to come back in , the year is looking positive for the team yet.

Donie Healy Memorial Tournament

Ballinora G.A.A recently hosted the inaugural Donie Healy Memorial U12 Hurling Tournament .

Four teams took part in the hugely successful day and we were blessed with magnificent weather for the occasion. The four very competitive games kept all hugely entertained on a very important day in our clubs year.

Our winners on the day were Ballinhassig who beat a valiant Ballinora team in a classic final which will live long in the memory of all those lucky enough to witness it.

Nemo Rangers and Courcey Rovers were the other two teams involved and even though they both lost their semi- finals they managed to put on a display in the third/fourth place play-off match in Ballinora which Courceys ended up winning.

Tony O’Mahony said a few words during the presentation of the trophies about Donie Healy and the impact he had on Ballinora as we know it today. The trophies were then presented by family members of Donie to the four captains involed.

A great day was had by all and Ballinora G.A.A would like to thank everyone who helped to make the day a huge success . Special thanks to the parents of the players and O’Crualaoi delicatessen who provided refreshments on the day.

Bazaar 2014

The annual Christmas bazaar took place recently in the ”hálla” and as usual big numbers attended. The club would like to express its thanks and gratitude to everyone who gave so generously again this year and helped to make this annual community occasion the success that it is.

We as a club are very fortunate to have so many people willing to give of their time and energy each year for this important fundraiser. The club are very thankful to all concerned and wish everyone all the very best for 2015.
