Donie Healy Memorial Tournament
Ballinora G.A.A recently hosted the inaugural Donie Healy Memorial U12 Hurling Tournament .
Four teams took part in the hugely successful day and we were blessed with magnificent weather for the occasion. The four very competitive games kept all hugely entertained on a very important day in our clubs year.
Our winners on the day were Ballinhassig who beat a valiant Ballinora team in a classic final which will live long in the memory of all those lucky enough to witness it.
Nemo Rangers and Courcey Rovers were the other two teams involved and even though they both lost their semi- finals they managed to put on a display in the third/fourth place play-off match in Ballinora which Courceys ended up winning.
Tony O'Mahony said a few words during the presentation of the trophies about Donie Healy and the impact he had on Ballinora as we know it today. The trophies were then presented by family members of Donie to the four captains involed.
A great day was had by all and Ballinora G.A.A would like to thank everyone who helped to make the day a huge success . Special thanks to the parents of the players and O'Crualaoi delicatessen who provided refreshments on the day.
